Whether you are religious or not, going to a local Church is a great way to get involved. (I happen to be Christian, btw). Through Church I have found many new volunteer options. You may have to hear some stuff about the Bible, but I think we can all deal with that if it involves helping others. My Church has a great Homeless Ministry, and go all throughout downtown Fredericksburg giving meals to homeless. Just explain your situation to whoever is in charge of the community service thing if you are not religious. There generally will be a prayer, but they won't (or at least they can't) force you to pray of course. Just giving a heads-up on a good place to find ways to volunteer. Be sure to hit up a few local churchs! :]

It's great that you volunteer and work to help people through your church! Many teens when searching for volunteer opportunities don't consider volunteering at their churches. Teens who attend churches (or don't) should read the weekly bulletin or weekly church news for volunteer opportunites. The same goes if you attend a synagogue. I'm sure synagogues also have many volunteer opportunities. Keep up the great work! We were put here to serve others!
