Anyone who is familiar with Christianity or the Bible is aware that woman is seen as original sin. While many denominations have shyed from this ideal, others still refuse to allow women to hold positions in the church. This ties in with Women's Rights, but I figured we should start here.
In the Bible, Eve picked the "Forbiden Fruit" and gave it to Adam. I will begin by saying "ADAM DID NOT HAVE TO TAKE THE FRUIT!" You will not hear me say that enough. Second, was she sinful or sensible? Perhaps Eve dared to ask why. If humans didn't question their commandments(not talking about the Ten) and their own actions, we would be in a world of chaos where Hitler was worshiped as a god. And that is the great thing about being human - we are curious by nature. God created us that way and trusted us enough to give us free will. Women should not be considered sinful or unholy. Just as God loves man, He loves woman equally.
So you decide for yourself if she was a sinner or a sait.

Let me start by saying I'm not the best practicing Christian, however, when thinking of Adam and Eve I often ponder this topic. There's always the question of why Eve picked the fruit; whether it curiousness or hunger. And who's to say that Adam wouldn't have eventually picked the fruit in due time. Eve just beat him to it.
Being that I'm a feminist, I would agree with you on the fact that it is unfair that women are not treated as equals in church. We are long past biblical days and many things have changed since then. Women were not valued then, in Shakespearan days, treated as either virgins or (well "go the to a nunnery" if you know what i mean). We are just as intelligent and should be treated as though we are.
Kudos for your thought provoking passage.
