At my school in Charlotte, North Carolina, with the help of one of my friends, I started an environmental group called The Green Team. We worked on getting students involved in the group first to encourage energy-saving and recycling on campus. We changed our paper to recycled paper, created a light-conservation system, and put up more recycling bins around campus giving the students an opportunity to make the better choice. Also, we got rid of paper plates and plastic utensils in the cafeteria so that we would be saving much not necessary materials. I think this group will be doing great things in the next couple of years and will be continued once i graduate from this school. I can't wait to see what becomes of it. I am doing this because I just really believe that kids can make a difference if they really have a great enough of passion and conviction. We must have faith that somehow, we can help change this world for the better and cover up all of those holes whether they are big or small. We can do this, together.

I wish I could start something like this at my school, but no one really could care less about this apart from me. Some of them prefer to raise money for people rather than try out other things like recycling too.
