Well, this is my first entry. I don't really know the whole ropes about this website yet, so I will just write about my activism experiences. Ever since I was born, I loved animals. 'Cute' ones, 'scary' ones, all were precious too me. So when I was 9 or 10-ish, I went vegetarian ( I am 15 now). I am a member of PETA, HSUS, ASPCA, and countless other groups. I defend the rights of animals because they have feelings too. Another campaign that I am strongly passionate about is gay rights. I am not gay myself-I am comfortable enough with my own sexuality to stand up for people who are gay/bi. My mom raises me in a very open, liberal household, so I've never really seen any hate towards specific genders, races, orientations, etc...My dad is, however, a homophobe, but my parents are separated and I am currently not speaking to my dad. I just can't see why people hate on others because they aren't of the same species or they have a different sexual orientation.

Some people (I believe) are homophobic because they are scared that all homosexuals are out to get them, or they just aren't as comfortable with their sexuality as other. I am not homosexual but I'm comfortable enough with my sexual orientation that if another woman walked up to me and hit on me I'd be like "whatever". My best friend was a lesbian and I loved her until they day she left this world. People judged me and told me I was gay too, but those people are just ignorant. I think it's great that you stand up for what you believe in. It's people like you who really make a difference. (even if you don't think so)
