Set a good example for activism by not being a corporate whore. This means, don't eat fast food, cook meals for yourself if you have to, don't shop at Walmarts or K-Marts or Dollar Trees or any other places that use slave labor to make everything cheaper, and most importantly, don't watch any major network news. To me that seems to be the biggest stuff because the sooner we can get people to not eat fast food, the quality of food will go up, and then we can not eat it so that employee's can be given more, and so that it can be a sustainable career. If we don't shop at stores utlizing slave labor we can force them to raise the quality for their workers in order to earn profit again. And if we don't watch the major networks they will realize that not everyone likes the same overpublicized bullshit. Maybe Viacom,General Electric,& Rupert Murder will program actual "news" to get viewers again.

I know it all seems impossible, but if people just tried, I think it would work. Personally I think the best activism is boycotting because it sends a message that you mean what you beleive in. If you tell someone you support labor rights yet you buy all your clothes at Walmart, it really doesn't aid you very well. If you boycott it irritates the corporate fat-cats and develops yourself better, you learn how to find things you wouldn't find if you used major companies for all your needs (like finding organic products). I know from my own experience that boycotting was the hardest step in my political growth, but I had to make that step.

If you're too young to run for office and you can't find anyone who agrees with you running for office, you can still send a message by boycotting corporations.

In addition, if people buy their own fruit and veg instead of ready-made meals, they'll control their weight and health more easily!

While consumer politics in theory seems effective, it would need to be on a very large scale to even affect 1 percent of the marketshare for a corporation. It is much more effective for people to insist that investment firms or private investors not invest in such companies. This will have a much stronger effect. Do investors care? you bet they do. There is a reason that many corporations take part in various non-profit efforts, it increases appeal to investors. How you would go by contacting investors, I do not know. I promise if I find out, I will immediately make an entry.
